The Transdrug Project

Please note: The Transdrug project is carried out with the support of the European Community Leonardo da Vinci programme. The content of this project does not necessarily reflect the position of the European Community or the National Agency, nor does it involve any responsibility on their part.

The Transdrug project FIN-00-B-P-PP-126538 is co-ordinated by the A_Clinic Foundation, Finland.

The Transdrug project - a Leonardo da Vinci financed international project aimed at the testing of methods for training needs assessment in the field of addiction (but with wider applicability) - has produced a booklet in English, that has been translated into Dutch. The Dutch version is published on this site only as a pdf-format.

For more information on the project, check the articles we published earlier in our newsletter (note: you may have to use the Back option on your browser, because there is no reverse link to this page), such as:
Tool Kit for training professionals
or
Transdrug project partners meeting in Bratislava

or go to
the information provided by the coordinating partner, A-Clinic in Finland, on its site

 The Toolkit

An excerpt from the Toolkit Introduction part explains quite specifically and concisely what the Toolkit has to offer, so you may wish to download these two pages:

A Trainer's Toolkit (46 kb)

The downloadable booklet comes in 5 parts and a separate part with the front page of the booklet, the list of contents, contributors and information about the publication.

We use the pdf-format, a popular format providing printable documents that look like pages of a book. You can save the file provided you have the Acrobat Reader, which is  downloadable for free from the Adobe site at:

http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html

Many of you will have the Reader aboard, in that case just click on the links below. If not: get the Reader first, then return here to download.
The files are printable and have the general lay out of the printed, English language version. Texts will be on different pages though, because English is somewhat more condensed than Dutch.

The downloadable texts

Clicking on the underscored text will start your browsers' download of the indicated text. Depending on the speed of you connection it may take a while for Acrobat Reader to kick in, which will show you the text. You then can use Acrobat Reader to save the file on whatever medium you like (use the "save" option in Acrobat, not in your rbowser). Use the "back" option in you browser to return to this page, and maybe repeat the process with another part.

Transdrug Toolkit part 4 (268 kb)

This part does not describe methods to assess training needs but rather how to make the step from needs assessment to training. Experiences in adjusting training in accordance with the results of a prior assessment, are described, as is the influence of needs assessment on desiging a training. Some articles treat specific Dutch developments.

Transdrug Toolkit part 5 (97 kb)

In this final part the drug assistance facilities in Finland and the Slovak Republic as such are described (in a perspective of tens of years respectively the last ten years) and the influences of the Transdrug Project on recent developments are evaluated.
